Aura Drawings on Etsy

My etsy shop now includes aura drawings. Below is the description. I've made a coupon for friends: LOVEANDHUGS takes 20% off and shipping on drawings is always free.

I will make you a drawing of your aura. I can never predict how the drawing will look, sometimes they resemble a face, sometimes they look like blobs of color. But they are always fun, informative and colorful.

I've been drawing energetic patterns since the age of 8 when a friend's mother threw out a box of oil paints. I eagerly saved them from the landfill and began experimenting. I still remember the day I looked down at a mess of colorful forms and realized it meant something. I could decipher their meaning and use it as a tool for problem solving. This was truly a day of finding myself and I've continued ever since.

You'll get a 9 x 12 inch drawing, done in pastels and a brief explanation of what the colors and patterns mean. The drawing will be shipped to you in a tube mailer, gently rolled with tissue paper.

Oprah's Intention

"I am seeking the fullest expression of myself as a human being on Earth."

That's it. The most enlightened sentence I've ever heard. And it works. People want to be happy, have money, make a difference, stand out, share love, etc. Well that's how you do it. One intention. To be the best you, the most fully expressed you. We are all here for something. We have different perspectives, chemistry, biology than every single other person alive and with that, we have something new to share with the world. We are all important. We all have a duty to participate in our own way. We need you! This fog of unimportance, apathy, self-doubt, shame and guilt can be lifted and we can then rise to the same level of those we perceive to have all the power. Power does not live with only a certain percentage of the population. Power lives in those who claim it internally. Oprah didn't become powerful because she earned a huge amount of money, she earned that money from claiming her own internal power to change her circumstances and the world. She followed her intuition to her present position and still lives by it today. You have no idea what your life could look like if you allowed yourself to be guided by inner strength and intuition. I don't yet, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

To a New Year

I truly love the energy this time of year. We get a break to rest. We can muster up the mental energy we will need for a running start once the energy picks up again. I'm finding the personal space I need without the nagging feeling that I'm procrastinating. Ideas form above our heads before coming into our bodies. They have their own time frame that cannot be rushed. Let these form fully before extracting them from the collective. I'm not usually the type of person that can allow this to happen successfully. Most often I attempt at pulling them down before they mature. The peace of early January is making this process much easier. Don't rush, don't feel that ever present obligation to perform. Remember to be mindful. It's a great time to clean your space and prepare for the year with a fresh state of mind and matter. Take it easy now because this year is filled with fire.

Observation, Authenticity and Decision Making

If you look straight ahead the illusion is gone.
The periphery contains the contrast of what
we chose to be.

Authenticity often seems out of reach.  I was raised in Connecticut and all the thrift store shopping and indie music listening won't take that out of me.  There is an opening, though.  Now, tomorrow and for the next few years  the layers of societal morĂ©s are being stripped away.  Today is a fine example of what this will feel like more often down the road.

I'm preparing notes to teach a new class on expression and was brainstorming in my head on what focus to take.  The word decision came to mind immediately.  Of the countless decisions we make daily how many are made based on personal preference?  When we are at work we use company guidelines; at the clothing store we chose the appropriate choice to fit a dresscode, conform to age appropriateness, conceal body-image issues, etc.  We eat what we think we should for health reasons, because a commercial tells us to, because there's a drive-through and we only have thirty minutes for lunch, because our kids will only eat certain foods...  It's no wonder that people have no clue what they want, they never even get a chance to practice on small things.

Artistic activities can be a place to make decisions based on personal preference as long as one is not caught up in the audience or using standard materials.  There is nothing wrong with painting on canvas but we should not overlook the other materials just because we are trained to.  Do you think about the preferences of the reader when writing or do you simply let your own expressions out?

We can start from scratch with this to develop a sense of communion with our spirit by making small decisions like what to eat for lunch or which socks to wear with a particular outfit based on what lights your soul instead of our default mental programming.  In doing so we'll begin to feel a connection to life again.  Passion and enthusiasm come from identifying and expressing true desires and authenticity emerges out of these occurences.

Mercury stations direct tomorrow morning

This mercury retrograde was an interesting one because it dealt with relationships. Turning inward on what we really want for ourselves and in a mate. Also what we want our primary relationships to look like. How often do we get a chance to do that? And with the support of astrology? Coming out of a long term relationship, this was an amazing time for me to assess the possibilities of what my life with someone could look like. Many options opened up in my mind and even the question of children was brought into the mix. As a girl, I was raised to get married and have kids. Adoption and 'life partner' weren't really discussed. There are no wrong decisions. Mercury retrograde is a good time to open to possibilities without the overwhelming feeling of having too many options. Usually during this time you can just observe your own reactions to possible outcomes and trust in yourself when the time comes to make a move.
